Sparrow 16

The Sparrow 16 is a pocket cruiser sailboat built around 1981 at Northshore Marine. Northshore bought the molds of the Guppy 16 from Melen Marine. The Guppy was designed by Ron Holder but only 4 were built. Northshore built about 150 16s.

About this site

The Sparrow has been around for many years. But there never was a formal organization with bylaws, officers, dues, etc. Today this website takes the place of a newsletter and is designed to introduce this fine, mature vessel. Owners, past and present, are welcome and skippers are encouraged to use this site to share their experiences and expertise, coordinate sail dates and social events.
The Sparrow 16 website is limited to facilitating communication of the Sparrow community. There is no "club" nor are there any experts, responsible parties or event organizers involved in this effort. Most important of all, every skipper is solely responsible for the safety of their boat and crew.
